Chamomile Tea

Chamomile is an herb. One popular form of using this herb is to make a tea. Chamomile can help reduce anxiety and relax the body. Many people suggest drinking this tea before bed.

Chamomile can cause drowsiness. If one is allergic to any plants in the daisy family, one might have an allergic reaction to Chamomile.

DHEA

 DHEA is a hormone that is naturally made by the body. DHEA works in the body to make other male and female sex hormones within the body. 

  The most common side effects of DHEA are generally mild and can include acne and upset stomach. Acne occurs more in women taking DHEA. Some women can have changes in menstrual cycle, abnormal hair growth, and a deeper voice after taking DHEA. Breast pain or growth can occur in men taking DHEA.  Do not use DHEA in doses higher than 50-100 mg a day or for a long period of time

GABA is a chemical that is produced in the human brain. GABA is used to treat anxiety, improve mood, reduce symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and treat attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Horny goat weed is an herb. The leaves can be used to make medicine.

Horny goat weed can be used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), low sexual desire, and increase memory. 

Maca is a plant that grows in the Andes Mountains. It has been cultivated as a vegetable crop for over 3000 years.

Maca is used for increasing energy, stamina, athletic performance, and memory. Maca is also used to treat depression, sexual side effects in men/women, female hormone imbalance, menstrual problems.    

Horny goat weed containing phytoestrogens has been taken by mouth safely for up to 2 years. An extract of horny goat weed containing icariin has been taken by mouth safely for up to 6 months.

Long-term use of some forms of horny goat weed might cause dizziness, vomiting, dry mouth, thirst, and nosebleed. Taking large amounts of horny goat weed might cause spasms and severe breathing problems.

Maca is safe for most people to take (up to 3 grams daily) for up to 4 months.  It has no serious side effects, but individuals with thyroid problems should be cautious of its use.

Korean Red Ginseng (3g,1000mg tid)

Korean red ginseng is a plant that grows in Asia, and its root is used as a natural remedy and supplement. 

Asian ginseng has been used to increase concentration and treat male sexual dysfunction.

Asian ginseng should not be used for more than 3 months at a time.

The most common side effect is insomnia. Less commonly, people experience menstrual problems, breast pain, increased heart rate, high or low blood pressure, headache, loss of appetite, diarrhea, itching, rash, dizziness, mood changes, or vaginal bleeding.

L Methyl Folate (15mg)

Folic acid is a synthetic form of folate. Folate is a B-vitamin naturally found in certain foods. It is needed to form normally functioning cells.

Folic acid supplements, like L methyl folate, are used to prevent or treat low folate levels.  Folate is necessary for the brain to produce the neurotransmitters serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine, and acetylcholine that effect mood.  Low folate levels can lead to certain types of mood disorders like anxiety and depression.

Folic acid usually has few side effects. If you have adverse effects from taking this product, inform your provider immediately.

L-theanine can be used to treat anxiety and stress, depression, schizophrenia, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), for the prevention of Alzheimer's disease, and increasing focus and attention.

Lithium Orotate

Lithium is a natural occurring element found on earth. Lithium works with other elements, drugs, enzymes, hormones, vitamins, and growth factors in the human body in several different ways. Lithium is used to treat bipolar disorder, depression, schizophrenia, and eating disorders.

Lithium can cause nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, muscle weakness, fatigue, and a dazed feeling.  These unwanted side effects are commonly associated with taking prescription lithium (lithium carbonate) and not supplemental lithium (lithium orotate).

Melatonin

Melatonin is a hormone found in the body.  Melatonin regulates night and day cycles or sleep-wake cycles.

Melatonin is used for insomnia and improving sleep. Some people use melatonin for jet lag and people who need their sleep cycle adjusted.

You may experience a headache, daytime sleepiness, dizziness, stomach cramps, and irritability.

N-Acetyl Cysteine (600mg)

Overview & Side Effects 

N-acetyl cysteine is derived form from the amino acid L-cysteine. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins in the human body.  NAC is essential to produce glutathione, which is a powerful antioxidant.  In the human body NAC is also useful in regulating the primary excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate helping to decrease feelings of restlessness. Some research shows that N-acetyl cysteine may improve some symptoms of bipolar d/o, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, autism, difficulty with concentration, trichotillomania, substance abuse, preventing kidney and liver damage by means of detoxification, helps in the regulation of blood sugar, and numerous other medical conditions.

N-acetyl cysteine is safe for most adults. Sometimes it can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea or constipation. In rare cases NAC may cause rashes, fever, headache, drowsiness, low blood pressure, and liver problems. For some, N-acetyl cysteine has an unpleasant odor that may make it hard to take.

Pregnanolone (10mg)
